Debunking the Oxbridge Myths

The keenly awaited 2023 Higher Education Good University Guide by The Times and The Sunday Times, was published last month and it was no surprise to find Oxford and Cambridge at the top of the list again. In the UK national guide, University of Oxford tops the league as number one University of the year, and Cambridge University ranked third overall, which leads in 21 of their subject rankings — more than any other university. As two of the most prestigious and highly sought after Universities, it is not surprising that they attract thousands of applications from all over the world each year, on average around 20,000 students apply to each of the two universities for just over 3,000 places on offer at each institution. But many perfectly capable and academically ambitious students are put off by the rumours of elitism and fear of not being good enough. So, we quizzed our Oxbridge consultant , Lucy Holland, to debunk the myths about applying to these two bastions of academia.
